Tennents, a cornerstone of Scotland’s brewing heritage, has been producing high-quality beers since its establishment in 1740. PROJECT SCOPE

  

Synergy3 was engaged by Tennents in Scotland to provide project management consulting services with a focus on reviewing and optimizing the existing Customer-to-Cash processes, including Sales Operations and Credit processes. The objective of this engagement was to design and propose a digitally enabled, customer-centric operating model that aligns with Tennents Brewery’s strategic goals. Additionally, Synergy3 was tasked with delivering a high-level Business Transformation roadmap supported by a detailed business case to enable sustainable growth and operational efficiency. 


DELIVERY


Assessment and Analysis

  • Comprehensive review of existing Customer-to-Cash processes, including Sales Operations and Credit functions.
  • Evaluation of processes such as Master Data Management, Customer Take-On, Order-to-Cash, and RTM optimization.
     

Design and Proposal

  • Development of a digitally enabled, customer-centric operating model tailored to Tennents Brewery's needs.
  • Creation of a high-level Business Transformation roadmap outlining key initiatives, timelines, and milestones.
  • Formulation of a robust business case to justify proposed changes and investments.
     

Capability Review and Recommendations

  • Detailed analysis of Master Data Management and Customer Take-On processes with improvement recommendations.
  • Review and enhancement of Sales and Operations Planning to align with business objectives.
  • Sales force effectiveness evaluation, focusing on execution at the Point of Sale (POS).
  • Recommendations for improving the effectiveness of management information systems for better decision-making.
     

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Regular workshops and presentations to align stakeholders on findings and proposed solutions. 
  • Delivery of progress reports and updates to ensure transparency and buy-in throughout the project lifecycle.

OUTCOME


The project delivered a digitally enabled, customer-centric operating model proposal and a comprehensive business transformation roadmap tailored to Tennents Brewery’s needs. Key outputs included a robust business case outlining potential benefits and ROI, optimized frameworks for Master Data Management, Customer Take-On, Order-to-Cash, and Route-to-Market strategies. Enhanced processes for Sales and Operations Planning and Sales Force Effectiveness were also developed, alongside recommendations for improving management information systems to support better decision-making. These outputs collectively provided a clear pathway for Tennents Brewery to streamline operations, enhance customer engagement, and drive long-term growth.
